While helping a friend build a house, Jason Hartley suggested installing a lift in the large walk-in attic, making it easier to get things upstairs. The idea worked, and from that moment Jason knew he had stumbled onto something that could help a lot of people.
Growing up in a family of builders and developers, Jason had always enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. That hands-on mindset, combined with a desire to solve real problems, is what made the idea of the Attic Lift feel so natural.
Jason spent years building and repairing boathouses, giving him hands-on experience with lift systems. He took that knowledge and began perfecting a platform-style lift, slowly introducing his design to local builders.
The response from builders was immediate and encouraging. It became clear very quickly that this was more than just a good idea. It was a product people genuinely needed.
Realizing there was nothing like it on the market, Jason moved quickly to secure a trademark and pursue a US patent on his unique, self-centering platform design, making Lift Specialties the only company legally authorized to sell and install this invention.
That patent has been the foundation of the brand ever since, giving customers the confidence that they are buying from the original and only authorized source.
Homeowners and builders loved the product. Jason began showcasing the Attic Lift at trade shows and Parades of Homes across the country, generating buzz and expanding the dealer network nationwide.
